2003 ANNUAL ACTIVITY REPORT
 
Your Board of Directors is please to submit this report on the various activities of the Association during the year 2003.
 With the great support of our members, the Association has reached its 49th anniversary since its  incorporation.

  I. CORPORATE GAMES:

Through the effort of the Sports Committee, the AMI Corporate Games was first organized in 1994. The G-Km Fitness Run started the opening of the Sportsfest with at least 100 participants from Sen. Gil J. Puyat Avenue (in-Front of Telecoms Plaza) to Ayala Avenue and Legaspi Village, Makati City.

The Executive Golf Challenge held at the Manila Golf & Country Club, Makati City on July 22m 2003, was participated by the business community and top government officials of the City of Makati. Engr. Mario Badillo, Chief of the Assessor’s Office in Makati and Mr. Maglave of Mheco, Inc. were the champions for the Low Gross and Low Net respectively.

The Basketball/Volleyball Tournaments held its opening on August 1, 2003 at the Koliseyum ng Bayan in Pio del Pilar, Makati City. Eight (8) Teams joined the tournament namely; General Milling Corp, San Pablo Manufacturing Corp., Roche Philippines, Inc., Cytel Philippines, Inc., Toucan Realy Corp., and Barangay Poblacion, Makati City. Trophies were given to Barangay Poblacion as Team Champion and to Mr. Pusoy Garcia of the Champion Team as the Most Valuable Player of the event.

The 8th Tenpin Bowling Tournament was held at the Astrobowl Bowling Center in Magalllanes Village, Makati City from October 9 to November 13, 2003. Participants were Commonwealth Foods, Inc. Bristor-Mayers Squibb Phils. Inc., San pablo Manufacturing Corp., Kodak Philippines, Jamica Realty and Marketing Corp. and Roche Philippines, Inc. Ms. Bong Coo graced the ceremonial throw. She also donated one bowling ball, which was awarded to Jovi Pagdagdagan of Jamiaca Realty and Marketing Corporation.

The support and cooperation given to the AMI Corporate Games is one of the vision of the AMI for comradeship among the Business community and government in the City of Makati.

II. GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING / SEMINARS:

Hon. Bayari Fernando, Chairman of the MMDA, was the guest speaker during our General Membership Meeting on June 30, 2003 at the Grand Ballroom, Dusit Hotel in Makati City. He gave insights and views on priority programs for the improvement of Metro Manila

The AMI Christmas Sharing was held at the Inter-Continental Hotel. The affair started with a Thanksgiving Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Jun Inocencio of Don Bosco Parish, Makati City. Games and raffles were the highlights of the affair.

Your Association was invited by Director Anselmo G. Adriano of the BIR Makati to the ceremonial 2003 Campaign held at the G/F Atrium of Makati City on February 16, 2003.

Atty. Jose Reandelar of Colgate-Palmolive Phils. Inc. and Directors of AMI joined the officers of the BIR and other Professionals and business organizations to pledge of support to the Bureau.

 

The BIR Seminar at AMI Conference Center last October 22, 2003 was given by Ms. Lyn Carino, Withholding Tax Division, national Head Office and officers from the RDO in Makati City to update the members on 2003 withholding tax, latest regulations on VAT and other mandatory/administrative requirements of the Bureau. Tax calendar and certificate of Attendance were given to the participants who attended the seminar .

In the 333rd Foundation Day of the City of Makati, your association participated in “Araw ng Makati” grand parade along Ayala Avenue, held on May 30, 2003. Ad Giants represented the members where the name/logo of the company were printed.

Your Association attended the planning workshop of the Makati City Hall at Baguio Country Club, Baguio City from September 18-21, 2003. The Association was requested to share in the goals and objectives of the Makati Development for the 21st Century. Leading the Philippines to a new responsible and sustainable economic through private sector and to further enhance the attractiveness of the City to local and foreign investors in order to strengthen the economy and broaden employment opportunities for its residents.

Chairman Bayani Fernando delivered an inspirational message addressing the concern and commitments of MMDA for the beautification of the entire city.

III. SERVICES:

As in the past years, the Association continued to render the following regular services to its members:

1. Renewal of Mayor’s permits and licenses in the City of Makati.

2. Payment of delivery van within Metro Manila.

3. Assistance in securing community tax and PTR to the corporation and employees.

4. Registration of motor vehicles with the Land Transportation Commission.

5. Transfer of ownership, mortgage, and release of mortgage in the Register of Deeds and with the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

6. Assessment and payment of Real Estate Taxes.

7. Furnishing the members with copies of new ordinances and revenues affecting business.

Lastly, your Board wishes to express its sincere appreciation and heartfelt gratitude for the valuable support and cooperation that you have extended during its incumbency.
